Looks like a wonderful family picture, doesn't it?

Except 10 days after this photo was taken, it was gone. Life had thrown a curveball....

Almost overnight I went from having a wonderful family and a successful and established business in estate agency to being alone and struggling to keep afloat as the waves of life tried to consume me.

I had to learn to navigate a new world, one without my family and learning how to deal with my autism and my many health conditions. I was obese with stage 4 arthritis in my knees, B12 deficiency, Hidradenitis Suppurativa and endometriosis. My grief at my loss was profound and I fell into addiction and became homeless. I was then diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes (because I didn't have enough chronic health conditions!). I never thought I could be happy again.

At a crossroads in life, I came to a decision. I wanted to live. I wanted to be happy.

I worked hard on myself and lost a lot of weight. I got clean and sober, got my long term health conditions under control, improved my mental health and I even managed to reverse my diabetes!!

I am fitter and healthier, both on the inside and out, than I have been in years.

I retrained in nutrition, therapy and coaching. I use my experiences in life and business to help others to help themselves. I am passionate about helping others to become the best versions of themselves so that they can be healthy and successful. To not just survive, but to thrive!

I have BSc (Hons) Psychology, Level 3 Certificate in Understanding Nutrition and Health, Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling and a Professional Coaching Diploma. I ran a successful business in estate agency for many years, changing my career path after my life changed so drastically. For the last 3 years, I have coached and counselled many people in individual and group sessions to improve their mental and physical wellbeing in their personal lives as well as helping them to improve in their careers and businesses. I am also a trustee for a charity that helps the hearing impaired, and I am studying to be a lipreading teacher and well as learning British Sign Language (BSL).

I genuinely understand how life, and your own mindset, can be obstacles to you becoming your best self. I am living proof that you can hit rock bottom and not only recover, but succeed. The only limits are the ones you impose on yourself.

So let me introduce myself. Hi, I'm Carrie Short...

Let me help you to remove those limitations and support and encourage you to become the person you deserve to be!
